ANN ARBOR, Michigan (AFP) - – A pair of American collegiate teams have set a world record for attendance at an ice hockey game by playing outdoors in front of a crowd of over 113,000.
Michigan on Saturday defeated Michigan State 5-0 at Michigan Stadium which is home to the US college's gridiron team. The attendance was announced at 113,411 which beat the previous record for a hockey game by more than 35,000.
The old mark was set at a game at this year's World Hockey Championships in Germany when 77,803 were in attendance.
The biggest crowd to watch Michigan's football team was 113,090 earlier this year.
